Scope notes

About this scope

This page describes the TYPE of room addition we build across the Westside and Conejo Valley. Room additions add real square footage: a new bedroom, a family room, a second story, or a rear extension. Each is engineered to the existing structure and to the lot.

The binding constraints are usually setbacks, lot coverage, and FAR (floor-area ratio). These local rules often shape the footprint of an addition more than design preference does. Hillside additions in Calabasas or Agoura Hills may require additional soils, grading, and structural review under the LA County Hillside Ordinance. Coastal-zone additions in Malibu may require Coastal Development Permit review on top of standard plan-check.

Living in the house during framing is usually possible. Living in it during the bath or kitchen tie-in stretch is harder. We are honest about which scenarios apply on your specific project.
